This week we have celebrated European Languages Week. We have had various number of sessions where students have promoted and seen deeper into the importance of foreign language learning as well as to its relevance to our everyday life, thus realising the value of plurilingualism. A great opportunity for them was to share their impressions with Heritage School students. We decided to promote volunteering and social help among teens and give a support to the children with disabilities, by providing a volunteer project „Don’t make a difference”. This project included the activities the youth was involved in. They offered help to the NGO “Corn of happiness” being a part of team working for renovation of center for children with disabilities. The project was implemented by about 15 teenagers from our school from 7th-11th grades. School administration, local authorities, the local NGO ‚ “Corn of happiness’’ that supported us to implement this project. At the end of the restauration the NGO organized “A day of Open doors” and all the volunteers were awarded with certificates. The students practiced and developed their English skills by creating different presentations using web-tools, short-movies and posts on their blogs.
